Due to the high demand for our program and our commitment to providing a consistent, structured, and supportive environment for all participants, we are only able to accept applicants who can attend regularly (Monday - Friday) and for the full duration of the session. Consistent attendance is essential in maintaining routine, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring the best possible environment for each child. Families who cannot commit to regular attendance may be placed on a waiting list.

Happy Acres Summer Program
The Happy Acres Summer Program is a recreational program operated by the City of Quincy Recreation Department for individuals with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, visual impairments, hearing impairments, and physical disabilities.
The program is open to Quincy residents entering 1st through 12th grade who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Participants should be able to ride a school bus/passenger van with moderate supervision and independently use the restroom.
The program is held at the Fore River Clubhouse in Quincy Point (16 Nevada Road) and offers a wide variety of activities, including kickball, basketball, nature walks, bowling, ping pong, board games, arts & crafts, and field trips.
Under the supervision of Quincy Recreation staff, each participant is encouraged to engage in activities and develop skills at their own pace, in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Drop-off and Pick-up Information
For the Summer Happy Acres Summer Program at the Fore River Clubhouse - Drop-off and Pick-up will be at the main entrance of the clubhouse 16 Neveada Road. Next to the kids playground set.
Note
- This Program is for Quincy residents only.
- Grades are as of September 2026.
- All Clinics and Workshops have a break every day. Participants are encouraged to bring a beverage (NOT in a glass container), fruit, or another suitable snack.
