Beginner Swim Lessons - Fall 2026 - Levels 1 + 2
Swim lessons are for American Red Cross Beginner Levels 1 + 2
POOL MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED. THIS IS A SEPARATE PROGRAM FROM THE POOL MEMBERSHIP PROGRAMS.
Our Learn-to-Swim program is designed to build skills step by step. By allowing students to master one skill before moving on to the next, our swim lessons help kids gain confidence in the water with every lesson.
During their swim lessons, children will spend time on the following levels:
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn to feel comfortable in the water and enjoy it safely.
Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Students will learn basic propulsive skills on the front and back.
General Information
For Ages 6-16 years-old
Ages for the program are as of the start of lessons.
Instructors:
Quincy Recreation Aquatics Staff, who are American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards
Pick-up and Drop-off Information
Pick-up and drop-off will be done at the Lincoln Hancock School Pool.
The entrance to the pool is on the back side of the school, from the parking lot located at 321 Water St.
Pool Rules and Regulations
1. Before entering the pool, you must take a soap shower.
2. Persons with communicable diseases are not allowed in the pool.
3. Any person with open cuts or sores must have a doctor's note before using the pool. Bandages are not allowed in the pool.
4. No glass objects are allowed in the pool or in the locker room.
5. No running or horseplay is allowed in the pool or the locker room.
6. Rules for diving and swimming are posted in the pool area. Participants should familiarize themselves with these regulations.
